Maureen is a steel gravity base structure with integral storage contained in three large subsea tanks. Although there are three gravity based storage tanks in the Persian Gulf and one gravity based production platform in West Africa, Maureen is unique in that production, drilling facilities, oil storage and accommodation have all been integrated into a single platform which was designed for refloat and re-use from the very beginning of the design phase. It is the integration of the storage which provides the buoyancy necessary for towing to and from the Maureen field.
